Wheaton St. Francis High School is seeking applications for the position
of Head Boys and Girls Varsity Swimming
Coach. The 2008-09 school term
will be the first time in school history that St. Francis will be
offering these programs as team offerings. St. Francis is a
Catholic, college prep high school, and an IHSA member school.
Qualifications: The preferred candidate will provide leadership,
organization, and supervision for all aspects of a start-up high school swimming
program and is responsible for the organization and successful
administration of all facets of the
program, including, but not limited to, managing the swimming program
within the parameters of the approved operating budget, individual
instruction, monitoring the academic progress and personal welfare of
student-athletes, and general day-to-day swimming operations. The
successful candidate will be expected to represent St. Francis in a
manner that projects sportsmanship, professionalism, respect and
integrity at all times. Successful
coaching experience required. Previous Head Coaching experience
preferred. Knowledge of and commitment to following IHSA rules, proven
integrity, excellent communication and leadership skills and ability to
motivate student-athletes to be successful academically, spiritually,
and athletically. Successful applicant must have the following
certifications: USA Swimming Coach, American Red Cross Lifeguard, First
Aid and CPR. All practices and
home meets will occur at Streamwood High School (Streamwood, IL). Salary
is commensurate with experience. Review of applications will begin
